Well... as you can see, I changed a few things around here. I was planning a redesign for a while. But actually, my wonderful web hosting company forced my hand.

Picture of a web server that actually works...The web server this site is hosted on experienced a major, and fatal crash. The hard drive in the server crashed. At first, I didn't worry much about it. I mean, it's a huge hosting company so they must be backing up my data on a regular basis right?...... right???............. wrong....  They don't back up accounts over 5gb. And they also failed to tell me that they their backup engine is also limited to 5gb. Our server had about 9gb on it before the crash. The only thing that the hosting company was able to salvage were the databases for the sites and some of the directory structure. Everything else was lost and my backups were incomplete and therefore worthless.

So, now what can I do? Not much. The data on the servers is not guaranteed. And they already cashed the check for the next year of hosting. So, I'm kinda stuck with this host for now... for now. Trust me, if they had told me specifically that I would have to do a manual, file by file, backup of everything on the server, I would have been doing it every week. Live and learn I guess. But I won't be plugging this company anymore. And I certainly won't be suggesting this company to anyone again. And, as a web designer, I have the ability to generate a lot of revenue for a hosting company. That's over. Any other accounts hosted by this company, that I'm responsible for, will NOT be renewed for another year.

Anyway, content recovery gave me the opportunity to redesign this site. There may be one or two broken images around here. I'll just have to fix them as I find them. And I completely lost my internal image gallery and my AutoCAD portfolio in the crash. I'll have to restore them somehow. In the mean time, enjoy. It's the same site, only with more goodness. Eventually, I'll add even more goodness. But first, I need to find my AutoCAD files... Wish me luck.
